@owenbrainard Awesome. You need to write that down (more than just in a tweet) to show it to her when she’s grown up.

Pulling together something related to the out-of-print Cocktail book I designed 12 years ago – http://amzn.to/eStwdm Stay tuned for info.

Anyone used software, a service, or a widget that enables you to auction a single item from your own domain?
-
@SantacruzMart It’s all JavaScript – most of the client is rendered with JS.
-
@maupuia That shouldn’t be permanent, Mike. Sometimes tweets fall out of cache, but should come back. Let us know if that doesn’t happen.
-
@rakesh314 That’s what we do already.
-
@mko Crazy how it sometimes comes back around to what already exists, eh. Though that said, definitely is room for improvement.
-
@inkpixelspaper That’s fine. Just don’t be shocked or angered when we change things that break what you’ve taught everyone to do. ;-)
-
@KuraFire I’m noting that my form of auto-list-linking in that last tweet broke in #newtwitter. Reported.
-
@inkpixelspaper Actually, it’s been one of our more popular features, based on the accounts it helps people discover.
-
@johnfoliot Sounds like a power-user scenario that would mean information overload for most folks.
-
@inkpixelspaper You realize you’re in a small minority for this one? That kind of information was cluttering tweets in the old UI.
-
@inkpixelspaper What is it about #newtwitter that prevents it from sticking for you?
-
@inkpixelspaper For me, it’s a balanced mix of #newtwitter, Twitter/iPhone, and Tweetie/Mac.
-
@inkpixelspaper The subnav currently only changes the left column. The top nav changes everything. /cc @KuraFire
-
@inkpixelspaper Yes, we do that regularly, especially to discover how and why folks use it.
-
@inkpixelspaper Right, but in those instances, we don’t currently have fixed global nav to include an indicator. It scrolls away.
-
@KuraFire We have some similar designs already, but more growl-like in the top right. Can’t rely on extra real estate outside the container.
-
@inkpixelspaper The top nav only contains Home, Profile, & Msgs. We also need a consistent means of signaling new content in other views.
-
@veen Sounds like you’re missing out, to me. SFO might have offered you a better pat down and longer lines.
-
@inkpixelspaper Because it’s not scalable to other timeline views, like search, profiles, RTs, lists…
-
@cpen @parislemon No more Thxgiving puns. My brain is mashed enough already…
-
@alexhorre Say again? Don’t quite understand the question.
-
@KuraFire We also have the glow under the Home link. But only for the Home timeline. We need better means of signaling new * in every view.
-
@KuraFire Yes, the movement is sometimes odd, but it’s been a good indicator of new content without checking the top of the page.
-
@KuraFire Funny, because that was also in #oldtwitter – one feature we didn’t change because it’s been so popular. @ded
-
@iA So then the question is: do you plan to create a version of Writer that also runs on the iPhone?
-
@iA Still, this seems a little like designing a Mac app, but not supporting the 11″ Air, no?
-
@jpamental Doesn’t sound right. Interaction is the same, as is core framework. Only diff is canvas size, right? @Squaredeye @iA @beep
-
@jpamental So far, no conflicts here. I primarily use the iPhone client + JustNotes. Not much use of the web version. /cc @bradhaynes
-
@Squaredeye Not a critique, just curious: why only design for the iPad and not both iOS devices? (responsive design?) /cc @iA @beep
-
@bradhaynes Plus, I never use Evernote’s more sophisticated features like text recognition.
-
@bradhaynes I used to like Evernote. But I think it’s gone down the path of adding too much. Feels heavy to launch it or create a note now.
-
@StevePeternell Not yet. Been using it for about a year now. Though more heavily the last 2 months.
-
@JasonSilvestri That’s what we’ve found too – for some, #newtwitter takes some time to get used to. After that, often golden. /cc @mikeypx
-
@gah650 I’m liking JustNotes better than NV. Feels lighter weight.
-
@shinypb Whoah, no problems with double-syncing to both Simplenote *and* Dropbox?
-
@conscience I’m not a Mail user anymore, so can’t say. Syncs beautifully though. And JustNotes supports some Markdown formatting…
-
@eportelance Yes. But something about JustNotes stuck, where NV didn’t. JustNotes feels lighter weight to me, even with the UI color.
-
@luxuryluke Result of an API formatting change: http://twitter.com/#!/atebits/status/7101463209713664
-
@TobyLeftly JustNotes is simple, & doesn’t offer much. That’s why I like it. Turn on formatting if you want a little extra markdown help.
