@jlax Sure… GetCookies.org – would you expect anything less from our family than finding and capitalizing on a good domain?
-
Setting: my daughter selling cookies at a booth.
Daughter: “Hi there! Would you like to buy some Girl Scout Cookies?”
Man walking out of store: “No, my wife would kill me!”
Daughter, audibly, so he could hear: “That sounds like a bad marriage.”
Me: 😳 but also, proud.

@andrewbg Y’all at 12s are so smart to bridge the gaps like this. (See what I did there?) Thinking of finally getting a trackpad now. Next up is MagicBridge HyperExtended with support for a mousepad on the opposite side, right? 😉
-
@smarty Nah, bolt move.
-
RT @CamBowman: These #girlscouts are working on their Silver Award project. They held a book drive, collected thousands of books, and spent…

@stop @JustinMezzell @trammell And that was back when engagement numbers were only visible by tapping though to the tweet. Nothing was visible on the timeline back then.
-
@JustinMezzell We were pushing this idea 10 years ago. I believe @trammell initiated the idea and led the research on it. If I remember right, the resistance was, even though quality (of tweets & experience) went up, all other business/quantity metrics would go down.
-
@wiseacre I would hope, yes, for safety and security of crew and cargo. A few late additions might sneak on as last to load. But probably rare and statistically insignificant.
-
@stop @wiseacre Pixar had the solution all along. twitter.com/forexflowlive/…
-
@stop @wiseacre They could use a few of these Russian MI-26s, that have a load capacity of 44k pounds. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mil_Mi-26
-
@wiseacre Seems the most logical at this point. I really do wonder how this plays out. Googled typical weight of cargo containers. Depends on size, but between 2-4 metric tonnes. Many utility choppers have a max load of 4k pounds, which is only half the heaviest container weight. 🤔
-
@wiseacre Logistics. 1) How to get the containers off the ship without a 10-story anchored crane, and 2) where to put 20,000 containers (or even half of that: 10k)

@claramhogan @thebolditalic I can’t remember now how long ago I discovered @thebolditalic, but I have appreciated every piece I’ve read since then. It’s been a few years since we left SF, but I still enjoy reading. 💙

@bigchaz The geometry of that faux dog ear

@RyanChris Want. So beautiful.

Beautiful, mesmerizing, and terrifying, all at once, especially at night. twitter.com/Jamie_Woodward…

@amygmultimedia @SFGiants Thank you, Amy G! We’ve loved having you as part of the game for so many years. And we’re happy you’re now officially with the Giants. Congrats on the new gig!
-
@rklau @RickSteves Another fun night. I enjoyed his answer tonight for ”Q: Where do you recommend taking kids for a trip to Europe?” … ”A: If they’re between 0-5, to grandma’s house before you leave.”
-
@charliecapen There’s only one answer to that question…
-
@photomatt Happy that most phones no longer need flashes. My wife is happy I no longer (regularly) layer my shirts like this.
-
@beep @mezzoblue @simplebits @teleject Same way I got to see the photo I posted. It’s awesome to see more old friends in your shot.
-
17 years ago today in Austin with @mezzoblue and @beep, on our way to a talk at SXSW 2004. Not pictured, but most likely walking on the other side of me: @simplebits and @teleject (we all miss you, buddy 😢)
-
@alexia @blockpartyapp_ @triketora Been my tag line for almost two decades. They can borrow it tho. 😉
-
@beep @blockpartyapp_ @triketora Get that set up yesterday already Ethan! Once you do, I’ll share the filter config I’ve been using that seems to work pretty well.
-
After seeing multiple mentions of @blockpartyapp_ from @triketora, I finally got an account and set it up a couple months ago. I’m not the typical use case for it. However, BP has eliminated almost all the accidental and unintentional mentions I get every single day. 👍
-
@Marchdoe @simplebits Same. I have never taken border-radius for granted!
-
@thereisnocat @luxuryluke Thank you!
-
@Alfred_Loo yep – shipments can only go to US addresses for some reason, sorry. 😢
-
Emma looked up Girl Scout Cookie sales to see where orders from her had shipped so far, then colored in this map to show the states that had orders. Anyone else in other states need GS cookies? Help her fill in the map! 🍪🍪🍪 digitalcookie.girlscouts.org/scout/emma2985…

This video was impressive in the first few seconds, let alone that it lasted about 10x longer than it needed to. Imagining the time difference between successfully pulling off this flight in one take, vs creating all or parts of it in CGI. twitter.com/nytimes/status…
-
@gruber No irony at all that these rumor sites document the deeds of a source they likely benefited from, even if not directly.
-
@gt @mikeindustries @garazi @beep One or two replies to @beep’s original tweet suggest using hair spaces or half spaces on either side. Similar thinking. Just not easily typed or uniformly supported.
-
@cameronmoll Fun. Will wait for you to report back that one kid plunked the
inside a
just to see how good your poker face was.
-
@luxuryluke @beep Totally. I always feel like I’m cheating or being uppity when I think of using a semi-colon. The Germans have it figured out: justjameverythingintooneword and forget about spaces and punctuation.
-
@beep I cringe when I see em dashes without spaces around them. I know someone taught me otherwise. But the em dash deserves to breathe, like the pause it commands.
-
@panzer @flyosity @mikeindustries What if an exchange or payment provider could calculate est. tax for each fiat-resulting transaction and withhold it automatically as a fee? In exchange for opting into this, you’d receive a verification cert at the end of the year exempting you from paying add’l crypto taxes.
-
@flyosity @mikeindustries Wouldn’t this make crypto Visa cards a really bad idea? An additional taxable event every single spend that causes a conversion?
-
@markjardine Both are so good to watch. I’ve done them in this order several times. Can’t escape the energy. So wish I could have experienced that live.
-
@mathowie First piece of music I owned was also a 45. REO’s Take it on the Run, handed to me as a promo as we were leaving Kings Island. For years after that, I swore the first verse ended with “And even if it is, keep piss in my eye.”
-
@mulegirl @simplebits In other words, get a room?
-
@simplebits OMG, I think you might have just pinpointed the correlation for me. Central Ohio mid-summer, Karen blasting from an 8-track, stuck in the back of an ‘81 Ford Bronco, focusing on the cracked vinyl seats in front of me that I couldn’t see over, gasping for air, trying not to hurl.
-
@simplebits Love Hall & Oates. And lots of other artists and songs I associate with similar years. It’s literally just Karen’s voice alone.
-
@simplebits I could not. Something about Karen’s voice and associations from my childhood combine to be like nails on a chalkboard for me. I have to drop everything and leave a store if one of her songs starts playing around Christmas. A psych could spend hours with me on this alone.
