  • @DannPetty @zeldman Zeldman is, and always has been, very kind and generous. Tho speaking of meeting him in person, my story from 15+ years ago of meeting him for the first time at SXSW is pretty funny. I’ll tell it if I ever get to meet you in person, Dann!

  • Car passed me earlier today with a license plate that read

    PLSVOTE

Never a more relevant and timely message for everyone to see.

  • Tremendous amount of respect for Jen, even tho my time working under her at Google was brief. Fascinating to read her words about the early days as an intern, and see how far she’s gone already. twitter.com/harrymccracken…

  • @mikeindustries Some days I see short battery life, others seem fine. I wonder if it’s just an age thing… mine is over 2 years old now. Think I saw that AT&T is still selling SE models.

  • @swissmiss We will come back around. Life and culture and history are cyclical. Only question is how long it will take.

  • @dburka I’m sure it’s easy internally to dismiss this as backseat driving, or that the eng is much more difficult. But this is why I was so drawn to the platform in the early days: some of the best ideas for Twitter came from *outside* the company. @jkottke

  • @bhaggs @maxvoltar @waxpancake Found myself toggling back and forth between the two settings. Makes me realize how much I’ve missed the pure reverse chron timeline. Tho admittedly, I do sometimes appreciate the summary of what I missed.

  • @KuraFire Oh, duh. Not sure I ever noticed that in 10+ years of seeing it. #slow

  • RT @jmspool: @stop The technique, called a Metered Paywall, tends to work well when there’s high-quality content. (You can’t do it with com…

  • I’m curious how the “you only have 2 articles left this month” (or no articles) pattern is working out for the bottom line. More sites seem to be experimenting with it.

  • @weightshift Awkward naming aside, it also mocks those of us who actually want smaller, not bigger.

  • @cameronmoll And if you find Design being offered a seat, use it (contribute value) or lose it.

  • @mikeindustries OluKai sandals, only and always. Avoid any with the leather “toe post” (synthetic is softer any way more comfortable). I’ve worn them hiking around all day long, feet never got sore.

  • @dbedingfield @pandemona Thank goodness. I advocated for replies to be demoted and treated differently years ago. Happy to see new (and probably better) exploration.

  • @agarwal Go with about any Craftsman tools that you might need to round out your set (manual stuff, not power). Like socket sets, screwdrivers, etc. Or maybe a large toolbox or cabinet depending on needs.
