@fromedome Congrats, Dan. Great match.
-
@hey_sterling @celesteasaurus Imagine being able to look back on decades of this practice. Wish I had started it when I was way younger.
-
@celesteasaurus Yep. Lots of people try to do this on a yearly basis. I find it even more insightful to go further back and further forward.
-
@stop Today, I update an analog folder of written recaps of the past four years, and write a letter to my 4-year-in-the-future self. Try it.
-
Using today as a day of long-term reflection. Thinking back over four years, and forward to the next four.
-
@Yarcom I’ll look it up on our iMac in a bit. It was a desktop app.
-
@amerz Anything found on Geocities a couple decades ago.
-
@Yarcom There’s an app for that I just used a couple weeks ago. Synced contacts between iCloud and Gmail, merged, found dupes, etc.
-
@danrubin So sorry to hear, Dan.
-
@owenbrainard She has a point, that flies like ice cream too.
-
My daughter types emoji to my wife in a text. I look. Me: “You sent her a bunch of poop?” Daughter: “I thought it was chocolate ice cream!”
-
@bhaggs We’re going to need a new genre called SciNonFi for this.
-
@flyosity AI will eventually cause them to fight back. SciFi movies aren’t so much fiction, as they are ahead of their time.
-
Every video I see of robots made by Boston Dynamics I watch in both awe and terror.
-
@trammell Bats right, throws left eh?
-
@jw @soopa @mikeindustries Time at Twitter is a compressed time warp, like dog years.
-
@meyerweb No notifications, not even for followers. But blocking a follower forces an unfollow.
-
@jw You wouldn’t dare. @soopa @mikeindustries

Early Twitter employees & adopters may remember @Ed, a vocal supporter of the platform. Just learned he passed last year. RIP, Ed Shahzade.

-
@ryangoodman @martucci We haven’t had issues with AT&T – tho we’ve been grandfathered into the unlimited data plan since the beginning.
-
@natetharp I believe that’s the root of the issue. But maybe there’s more that I’m not understanding.
-
@arcatype Ha, you’re no older than me, man! I used to resist change like this. But I’m all for them trying anything now.
-
@arcatype Still not understanding what part of a temporarily reordered timeline isn’t completely yours? Same characters, with highlights.
-
@arcatype And I assume the algo is using the power of the same graph, but with a lot more complex factors.
-
@AlanHogan @tomcoates Disagree. You can’t think of the algo divorced from your friends’ actions and interests.
-
@natetharp Poke your holes in it. It’s truth.
-
@tomcoates At least you never give up!
-
@tomcoates I never suggested that. And still wouldn’t. My original point was that tweets have not been in pure reverse chron for years.
-
@tomcoates I fought change within the company for years. I’m on the other side of that debate now, literally and figuratively.
-
@tomcoates Or, to be more accurate, whether you trust which tweets your friends are liking, RTing, and clicking on.
-
@tomcoates There’s your problem. You never made friends with an inanimate algo.
-
@stop @tomcoates And the order Twitter used is highly influenced by actions your friends take.
-
@tomcoates Ok. So just take that a step further. Now they’ll be in the order Twitter publishes them. Not that different.
-
Twitter timelines have been jumbled and out of order since retweet became a feature six years ago.
-
@mjacksonw Yep, the settlement serves some people well, but not everyone. Don’t understand why they won’t let anyone pay to stream anything.
-
@TylerH Agreed, I caught that too. Hope that changes too. As of last year, we’re now out of market for the Giants, so this is big for us.
-
The “MLB local market blackout” finally falls under legal scrutiny, and a class action settlement. Good riddance. mlbbroadcastingsettlement.com
-
@didierh The app is Jekyll and Hyde with badging. I wish it would let you control what it badges for, like the Mac app.
-
@veen It’s already throwing me off that you’re tweeting at 4am like other UK friends, let alone that it’s posting photos of your lunch.
-
@gracie It’s like you’ve completely forgotten who I am, Grace. @mkruz @mikeindustries
-
@mikeindustries @mkruz I use that word allot.
-
Breakfast view. #findthecoast
-
@trammell You can get yours in something other than Times Roman at 12pt?
-
The future is arriving faster than we predicted. fastcoexist.com/3056096/the-pa…
-
@mcrate_s Expand that to any app G offers that has permission to track location. It’s more data than I can wrap my head around.
-
@mcrate_s Think about all the data they have just through usage of the map app, directions there, when people arrive, etc.
-
@natetharp Agreed. I know they like to avoid adding settings. The ability to turn it off, or mute it for a period would help folks like you.
