RT @jw: My father, a cancer patient, went missing in North Texas last night. We need help finding him: facebook.com/findmarkwillia…

@mikeindustries @JoeRinaldi @motherfuton Have good judgement, even on fries. I just like mine to taste like potatoes rather than grease.

Open up Passbook in dim/dark lighting. Notice how the iPhone cleverly cranks up the brightness, then dims it back to normal when closed.
-
@mikeindustries Row 2 of how many sections up? 8?
-
@mikeindustries That’s what you’ll use to clean up the nosebleed from those seats.
-
@owenbrainard @kris I’ll see your cute little Kardashian mentions, and raise you an entire tumblr: unintentionalmentions.tumblr.com
-
RT @MeredithFrost: Michael Brown’s family: “Violence is not the appropriate reaction. Let’s not just make noise, let’s make a difference.”
-
Heyo @BlazePizza. For which two words is fire’d a contraction?
-
@Trenti Make sure they’re black. Not 50 shades of grey…
-
@Trenti For you, I thought the answer was always “black”.
-
@Dukester @stonebrewingco We enjoyed everything we had for dinner there earlier tonight.
-
Earlier today, I gave a short talk to students and alumni at my alma mater, @PLNU. This was my advice to them. medium.com/stop/learn-how…
-
@matt_docx Absolutely. Thanks for coming and listening for so long. It was my honor.
-
@taliammarie @PLNU Thanks for having me and sitting through all those slides and stories.
-
@ericlangee Thanks, Eric. Hope I was able to convey a cohesive message through all those slides and stories.
-
Fellow nerds of San Francisco, the whole Valley, beyond, heed these words. We can (and need to) do way better. medium.com/pandemona/hey-…
-
@danielwilber Gotta love time-lapse for landings. Condensed about 2 minutes of footage down to 6 secs.
-
@s_grady13 sup primo. @arbasgall @kaelakoala
-
This can’t be correct, @AMCTheatres? You’re gonna put a buy button in a tweet, then *snail mail* a gift card? #irony mashable.com/2014/11/20/twi…
-
@hunterwalk Problem (that we wrestled with before) is do you put emphasis on the search box or tweet box? Don’t want users to confuse them.
-
@kvox @gabrielstricker The detail is great for those who understand it. The importance of this work should be spread far wider though. ;-)
-
@Neelixx @welles Make sure to switch to “All tweets” on the results pg, and knowing the advanced search stuff helps: support.twitter.com/articles/71577…
-
@stop cc @kvox @gabrielstricker Hoping this aforementioned story gets more attention, boiled down to language the masses will understand.
-
@subcide That’s the easy part. Any UI designer could improve that substantially in a day. It’ll happen eventually.
-
@stop In other words, this effort is extraordinary, and it deserves recognition more than just a typical eng blog post.
-
@stop This represents an entire team of engineers focusing their efforts on something that almost exclusively benefits the user experience alone.
-
@iChris There were many false starts on that idea – both on the sending and receiving end. They may still do something with it someday.
-
@iChris It seems like local distribution is prioritized, which is only useful for local information. Then usefulness ends.
-
I don’t understand how plague.io is any different than other sharing networks, except for the unfortunate name.
-
Remember when Twitter search only went back 3 days? Twitter now indexes every tweet since 2006. Amazing eng work. blog.twitter.com/2014/building-…
-
I’m excited (and honored) to be speaking at my alma mater, @PLNU, this week. So many great memories and life changes for me there.
-
@anm Must be a list of early Twitter employees floating around somewhere, because we see this again and again. Same usernames each time.
-
@stop @andybudd @veen Oh, but this colophon was from one of Jeff’s books: The Art and Science of Web Design amazon.com/dp/0789723700/
-
@andybudd @veen Yep, based on the Cocktail site that was part of HotWired. I designed and illustrated it. amazon.com/dp/0670880221/
-
@veen Found what was labeled as a final PDF of the book. We didn’t actually let it go to press like this did we?
-
@stop @stop And OMG, a color chart table I wrote (manually) and contributed to Webmonkey in 2010 still lives: webmonkey.com/2010/02/color_…
-
@diversionary Me too. Both from its content, and having to design it. ;)
-
Stumbled across some HTML I wrote 14 years ago for a redesign of Webmonkey. Still renders flawlessly. #tables4ever
-
@elizabeth @kevinweil The little lamb swing. We had the same. Hope @thirdweil likes it as well as ours did.
-
@bhaggs @artypapers @jw Is that the job that lasts almost 3 hours and is a total waste of time?
-
@artypapers @jw I have come to accept the fact that global design just means circular avatars.
