  • @mfg Following up, and thanking you for this rec. We wouldn’t have known about it otherwise. Worked out perfectly.

  • @cyanhex You were (and have been) a great addition to the team Sean. We were lucky you chose Twitter. Bummed we didn’t overlap more. Looking forward to what you do from here.

  • @daringfireball @gruber Not exactly the same thing, but @davepell’s @nextdraft has nicely filled a very similar niche for me for years. A good summary of the day’s news with puns and opinion thrown in for good measure.

  • @halvorson Happy birthday, Kristina! I keep flipping over to your profile just to see the fun balloons. Cheers to you!

  • Any New Yorkers have a recommendation for Covid testing locations somewhere near Midtown/Flatiron open on a Saturday (next week)? Results within 24 hrs.

  • @jw I just said the same thing out loud. They look like practice sessions.

  • This centi-thread is like a set of cliff notes (+) for an entire Med school class on immunology and epidemiology related to Covid. Gets pretty technical about 40 tweets in, but still very useful to scan for us commoners. In Arnold’s voice: “It’s not a booster…” twitter.com/celinegounder/…

  • @Hicksdesign @brad_frost A flood of memories from the roller rink whenever I hear Come on Eileen, so I can’t hate on it. Grouped with Centerfold, Safety Dance, and almost everything from Duran Duran.

  • Same music, but now give them all guns and let Tarantino direct a cut. twitter.com/ValaAfshar/sta…

  • @danrubin @lomography @lomographynyc @Hasselblad Nice Dan. The depth of field in that first mirror shot is seriously messing with my mind. I can’t stop looking.

  • He was the calm in our storm. The comfort in our uncertainty. Reason that could disarm tension. Smiles that lit the room. His encouragement lifted us all and made us better humans. For he was one of the best humans, and we all wanted to be more like Mike. Rest peacefully, @mkruz.

  • @mgsiegler Sadly, I’m betting the ratio of new advertisers Twitter gains per day to the volume you see in your timeline would make this a losing goal.

  • @mgsiegler Someone I follow did this a while back as an experiment, and they ended up getting some really strange ads, but no reduction in ad volume. Apparently once you block out the higher level auction winners (1000s), you still get the lower remainder of a bottomless barrel.

  • @finkel Even with the early catch and good prognosis along the way, I can still imagine a lot of stress over the past year. Glad you’re feeling good, Ben. Thanks for sharing.

  • @bhaggs @Stammy @biz As Twitter grew up, Comms (and maybe even Biz himself) may have wanted to stop using fun/goofy names for company branding & assets, even though they were almost always internal references. Until the logo moves away from a cute blue bird, many tweeps will always know him as Larry.
