@gary_hustwit We’re looking into it, Gary. The change took me by surprise too.
-
@holaMau Notice was given, and he never responded. How long do you expect Twitter to wait if you’re making the request?
-
@MarcDrummond Notice *was* given – even he admits this now: infovore.org/archives/2011/…
-
@MarcDrummond Anyone can change their account name anytime they want. twitter.com/settings/accou…
-
@andybudd If you recall, I tried to bow out earlier. Good night, Andy. ;-)
-
@andybudd Sorry – it just doesn’t seem to warrant constant rehashing and last word digs. Pet peeve of mine.
-
@notasausage Which he certainly could have done after getting notified of the violation of policy and getting suspended.
-
@notasausage If you had registered @GGBridge, and were issuing updates as the bridge, why would you be surprised when you got suspended?
-
@andybudd But now we know there *was* an attempt at discussion, and he never responded back.
-
@lukeredpath Even more reason why the name and entity isn’t free for anyone’s taking. It seems to be owned by the City of London.
-
@shiflett True, notification would have been ideal, and a chance to move to a new username. I don’t think policy accounts for that yet.
-
@shiflett True. Even stickier if you’re operating within the same space – and in this case, the same brand and entity.
-
@andybudd I don’t agree in this case. If you squat on an existing trademark, and pretend to be that trademark, don’t expect notification.
-
@Shealan Bob would absolutely have right to keep it if he weren’t ever tweeting anything related to shoes. Not so if he were though.
-
@CraigGrannell I honestly don’t know the answers. Here’s our trademark policy: support.twitter.com/articles/18367…
-
@21five_public Again, I’m not the one involved in these decisions. But our trademark policy is pretty clear: support.twitter.com/articles/18367…
-
@andybudd I don’t make these decisions. But curious why Twitter should be ashamed of handing the account over to the owner of the trademark?
-
RT @gary_hustwit: Dear @twitter, please bring back the Design category in Who To Follow. #BringBackDesign (design people, RT this!!)
-
@RobaZekry Portfolios speak for themselves. If you’re good, and your work is good, just apply yourself. Don’t compare yourself to others.
-
@BradMccarty Sometimes dependent on the speed of your connection.
-
@CiaranAinsworth Are you including URLs? If so, it shrinks them automatically.
-
@macasek Go to any profile page, follow button is in the top right corner.
-
@BradMccarty Huh? Twitter for Mac has supported user streams since it launched.
-
@r3dsm0k3 The request to grab relationship status with that account may be timing out. In that case, I think the button doesn’t render.
-
@Lulurose24 No, the URL structure changed after I posted it. I tweeted the updated link this morning: twitter.com/jobs/design_ux
-
@kusmer Hah! You’re here in our office? I’m standing on the back, but I need to head out soon.
-
@LauraGlu One of the reasons we need a copywriter. ;-)
-
@episod But that shortcut only searches photos?
-
@MrGube Try it again a couple times. Works for me. Their servers seem to have hiccups now and then, maybe paired with high traffic?
-
@richendesign My original link uses jobs though, not job. ?
-
@richendesign Which ones, and what browser? They all work for me.
-
Two movie tickets for $9 through Living Social: j.mp/ls-movie
-
Twitter is hiring for design, research, and copywriting positions. Join us. (updated link) twitter.com/jobs/design_ux
-
@dbedingfield Glad everything’s ok.
-
@oster_ph Not just you. The service we use for job postings went down soon after I tweeted about them. Great timing, eh?
-
Noting the convenient @ and the # on the new iOS5 keypad for tweeting: apple.com/ios/ios5/featu…
-
@RockhillStrat Bursts of 140 characters, maybe. ;-)
-
@madmanweb No worries. I’m happy that we have passionate users who care. Feel better soon.
-
@BradMccarty Yes, I think that’s correct.
-
@madmanweb The feature isn’t enabled on your account yet. When it is, it will show you the link will be shortened.
-
@madmanweb And yes, we do regular testing every week.
-
@madmanweb That’s not true, Madhu. Notice the char count after you paste in a link. No matter the length, the count only reduces by 19.
-
RT @emilychang: “design is not simply an adjective to place in front of a product’s name to somehow artificially enhance its value” http …
-
Squeezed into the Apple Design Awards at #wwdc tonight.
-
@magnuson Not so much when you get a ticket from one.
-
@extrachewy Might be time to update your app then. Should be expanded in Mac too.
-
@ben_h It’s an edge case that the original is shorter. The majority of users know this feature as shortening.
-
@extrachewy We show the display URL for these links, which includes the domain by default. Like this: apple.com/ios/ios5/featu…
