-
@ponjoh Not a bug. I think only certain characters are allowed in hashtags and usernames.
-
@BoogsterSU2 I don’t know. But it could have to do with similar reasons for the same limitations in usernames.
-
@chrismasterson Not sure, actually. May have been because that combination is typically not intended to be a hashtag? i.e. #1, #2, #3, etc
-
@BoogsterSU2 I believe any characters other than letters, numbers and underscores will break a hashtag, not just unicode.
-
Note that hashtags made of pure numbers will not be parsed and turned into clickable hashtags on twitter.com. Examples: #93 #911
-
Two words that changed their meaning for me 10 years ago: “Let’s roll.”
-
RT @jimbradysp: Interesting use of Twitter: @UAFlt93 is recounting events on Flight 93 in real time.
-
A day of sorrow, pride, and remembrance. #Sept11

@earth2marsh Really? Crazy. I knew there’d be a good chance of someone seeing my tweet that knew the owner. Tell him it’s clever.

Custom license plate spotted on a Mazda minivan yesterday: CTRL Z. I felt extra sorry for the driver that it wasn’t CMD Z.
-
@antonpeck @markboulton The beauty is that if they use newschool retweets, you’ll only have to see it once.
-
Dance like there’s nobody watching. Sing like there’s nobody listening. Tweet like there’s nobody following.
-
@sampullara True. Also, @sacca… “box set”? They still make (and sell) such things? ;-)
-
@sacca Wow, what a list, and I only made it through the first page. Helluva box set if it were to be.
-
@halvorson @stephenhay @beep Think of it as copy editing and change-tracking in Word, and you’re right there with us.
-
@stop @stop @KuraFire @stephenhay Then again, we’re finding git isn’t the best tool 4 managing lots of design binaries. Why I asked for alt recs.
-
@KuraFire @stephenhay Yeah, I don’t host anything on github – it’s all privately hosted repos so far. Love that Github/Mac can preview PSDs.
-
@stephenhay Yeah – so far, I prefer the visual UI of Tower for choosing which files to commit. Simple as checking or unchecking a box.
-
@stephenhay I use 3 diff tools because I don’t know all the commands. Terminal: clones/pulls. Tower: commits. Github: PSD/binary previews.
-
It’s not often I get to open someone else’s psd and learn that Photoshop supports over 1,000 layers…
-
@mags That little dude is 12 already? And I can only imagine what it’s going to be like when our daughters get to his age…
-
@TheMelt Are you open today? Hours?
-
@courtneybolton The help article seems to explain the reasons for limits pretty well. Would lists not help you do what you want to do?
-
Noticed new email design from @summify tonight. Cleaner design, but I’d rather see the story first, then its social context.
-
@TimHaines @takeo I’m likely an uncommon user, because I do switch accounts on twitter.com often. But only check favstar for @stop.
-
@TimHaines Just noting that if I sign out of twitter.com, and sign back in as @stop, I always need to reauth from Favstar. Is that normal?
-
@TimHaines No auth screen – just sign out, and sign back in. But I don’t think I ever need to re-auth any other Twitter apps when I do that.
-
@TimHaines First – I’m only using favstar with one Twitter account. I’ve never checked it for another. Second…
-
@courtneybolton You can easily follow more than 2,000 accounts. There’s no limit there that I know of, except on a daily basis.
-
@TimHaines I’ve actually wondered why I constantly need to re-auth Favstar.fm? Is it just me, or a quirk of the system of I log out of T?
-
@StuRobson @paul_irish The other account is active, so unless he’s violating TOS, I don’t think there’s anything Twitter can do.
-
@GrahamJenkin Git is our current solution. And yes, have Tower. Also GitHub’s app. But git is getting slower and slower for us.
-
@kaler Hmm, I remember Perforce from many moons ago. Back when I was still on Windows. Not good memories…
-
@LayerVault Ok, hers’s one – can LayerVault be installed on our own server, rather than syncing with lv.com?
-
@levifig @danielmall Yeah – but as far as I can tell, that’s all based on text and code, not the diffs of binary files.
-
@levifig @danielmall Interesting. I’ve heard the exact opposite.
-
@levifig @danielmall And we need the server component – multiple people contributing at once.
-
@levifig Also, can it’s all or nothing with git – the entire repo every time.
-
@levifig With lots of changes to binary files, the repo is growing out of control in size very quickly.
-
@ubiquitic We’re already using Confluence as a wiki internally, and don’t really like it. Plus, not really version control for binaries?
-
Also, for anyone recommending VersionCue, Adobe discontinued it after the release of CS4.
