@MulderMedia Often, no wifi is better than slow wifi.
-
@brewsterapp Email sent. Ticket #37.
-
.@randyme I’m not concerned with ability to get in. It’s more that I can’t skip that step, or control what info will be uploaded.
-
@sunghu So you tapped it? I wasn’t comfortable going that far to find out.
-
@janl Sorry – I’m not trying to make excuses. And I believe the implications of that step has been made clearer now.
-
@janl Except that with Twitter, it isn’t a requirement for using the app or service at all. Here, it’s required to proceed.
-
@dannygarcia I only own the data on my own contact card. All remaining data was shared with me under assumption that I’ll safeguard it.
-
@rsarver Technically, iCloud fits into the same bucket as the three you mentioned.
-
@rsarver Not sure yet. I’m leery of sharing or uploading sensitive data that I’ve been entrusted with when I don’t know how it will be used.
-
@richardhenry I’m sure it could have a lot to do with beer if you wanted it to.
-
.@brewsterapp looks fascinating. I wonder what the implications will be of uploading others’ sensitive contact data. brewster.com

@gcmorley @dburka @elliotjaystocks Agreed. I’d love to see exactly that. Perhaps more so than the “no replies” view.
-
@danbenjamin We’ll eventually eliminate it from all pages: engineering.twitter.com/2012/05/improv…
-
@dburka @elliotjaystocks Head to an account like @Starbucks or @Support on the web to see it in action.
-
@elliotjaystocks Hang in there, might be possible. As others have already mentioned, we’re testing this exact notion on some profiles now.

-
@fromedome @joshelman Happens to me less often now – you’ll learn where to tap over time. Big advantage is fast/easy access to profiles.
-
@tapbot_paul @isaach @TimHaines I use Cmd-U all the time too, partly for how fast it is in Tw/Mac. I never think to use g+u on web though.
-
RT @colbay: A few months back we released an update to mobile.twitter.com. Take a gander at the process behind the redesign: http://t. …
-
@FSchroiff Thanks, Florian. We’ll investigate and fix.
-
@joshelman I’ll admit the same.
-
@F6x Includes the new bird as well. A hitch in the app store process means a delay for showing the new icon there.
-
@mikeindustries At least it’s not screwing every single tweet that happens to walk by now.
-
@Pifman I’ve heard this is a bug in iPhone’s springboard, not with Twitter’s app.
-
@mikeindustries Actually, you could go with the favbot model. @Favstar50 and @favstar100 each have diff thresholds. #forkthecode
-
@mikeindustries @luxuryluke @jkottke Thank God. That @anildash dude goes on Fave binges several times a day…
-
@flyosity Apparently any additional durations are problematic when translated.
-
@mikeindustries About time! Your bot dominates my timeline frequently. (But tweets are often good enough that I haven’t unfollowed yet.)
-
@kirstygilbertx Technically, you can’t sign out. But you can go to the iPhone’s Settings app, and remove your account from the phone.
-
@TimothyWhalin BTW, sounds like there’s a bug in iPhone’s springboard – if you restart your phone, the app icon should update.
-
@TimothyWhalin Strong separation of public and private content.
-
@AJKandy @TimothyWhalin Have you updated the app today? Tapping on the avatar now goes to the profile.
-
@TimothyWhalin Might be a possibility. A little trickier UX-wise, because you’re in a limited modal when viewing DMs.
-
@TimothyWhalin @AJKandy Should be updated there too.
-
@AJKandy @TimothyWhalin That’s exactly how it works now.
-
@TimothyWhalin Sorry you feel that way. Getting to a profile from a tweet is one of the most frequent use cases…
-
@atmattt Today for iOS.
-
RT @sunghu: Twitter for iPhone and Android updates available now! Expanded tweets, push notifications for tweets, and more. http://t.co/ …
-
@CimotA Apparently so. Many schools still require printed pages for writing and research assignments.
-
@AlanHogan Eh? Twitter/Mac uses the streaming API. There is no refresh. My tweets appear immediately in the timeline. Yours don’t?
-
@binder And you used PrintShop and a dot matrix printer to print a banner that read “GET OFF MY LAWN”, right? Oh, just me?

The iPad Experiment: Why I’ve been using a real computer today tabletexperiment.wordpress.com/2012/02/12/why…
-
My thoughts: for a resourceful student, the iPad could function very well as a full laptop substitute, given a few extra trips to the lab.
-
Overall, responses so far are probably ~75% against the iPad (for now), 25% in favor but cautiously so.
-
Summary: challenges of using an iPad only for college: printing, IT support, some uses require Flash, coding, multi-tasking.
