@dwaldron Yep, I’ll admit it was actually my wife who brought this up last night. And it ruined me for a while. Spend our days wisely.
-
@AndrewCrow @timoni @StravaSupport I’ve seen this before too. A friend explained to me that some GPS software “smooths” out the points, knowing some inaccurate detection points will be taken, typically generating a more accurate path, and thus, distance.

As an adult, one of the most acute markers in the passage of time is the birthday of your first child. As our oldest daughter turns 10, we face a stark realization that the counter of years she will likely live with us now runs in reverse. Parenthood is incredible.

@mathowie The Skyway is probably second for me in nostalgic attractions I miss. A similar delight as the people mover, and thru the Matterhorn! This skyway car has a similar feel to the PM cars, and a much lower predicated auction price.
-
@mathowie I miss the people mover so badly. Makes it worse at DL that so much of the original track is still there to tease us. The same at Magic Kingdom in FL is nice, but not as cool.
-
@hoverbird @owenbrainard @abdur It’s also interesting to me that IG grew so rapidly without any kind of share (retweet) function to help content go viral.
-
@meyerweb I’m more upset over the mixed case at the bottom.
-
@mikeindustries Same for me with php. And I just recently learned about === too.
-
@isaach @wendyverse So. Hot. And humid. We also liked Venice this time more than our last visit 10 years ago. But now in Prague, and completely in love with this city.
-
This happens to me all the time. More often than it should. Misspell a CSS property or class. Forget a semicolon. Miss an end-quote. Etc, etc… twitter.com/donnfelker/sta…

What is this amazing thing that can have chocolate or vanilla smeared on the inside, and why isn’t it available everywhere? #Prague

Once rode in an uber with a fixed digital readout on the dash set to NOV 05 1955. Ride fell short of expectations. twitter.com/dwjr/status/10…

@beep @rachelandrew Alternatively, I would accept “50px” on the thumb, and “1fr” on each successive knuckle.
-
@beep Yep, agree, fr is my new bf. I just recently got back into some dev work. Finally learned grid, thanks to @rachelandrew. And I’m amazed at how easy it is to create layouts that used to be so hard (some impossible).

For my future self (and anyone else who needs to use the keyboard to reconnect a magic/bluetooth mouse after charging) –> fn-control-F8, arrow to the Bluetooth menu, down to the device name, and over to ‘Connect’.
-
@rogie (Missed this yesterday.) Great move, and a perfect matchup of skillz. Happy for you and Dribbble.
-
@Malarkey Yup, of course. Hits close to home, as I lived a good part of the book, and knew all the characters well. Drama, eh?!
-
@jeremyreiss @CalebReiss @bcraw35 Sounds like a good day, especially getting an autograph from my favorite player! (Closely related, I met my childhood idol, Pete Rose, this weekend in Vegas, and got his ’graph on a ball.)

That deep, weathered, frank, unmistakable voice. The fearless willingness to try new food and meet people anywhere. I’ve watched him for years, and read 2 of his books. Bourdain will be missed. twitter.com/cnnbrk/status/…

CSS needs support for white-space: none; (or collapse, or ignore, or whatever the WG wants to name a value like this).
-
@anildash @mezzoblue @glitch Dave opened it back up a few years ago for the 10-year. Not sure what’s happened since then. mezzoblue.com/archives/2013/…

CSS Zen Garden was initially seeded 15 years ago this month by @mezzoblue. My mind is boggled with the possibilities of what folks would be able to achieve today, given the tools we have available to us now.
-
@pandemona The flipped question is, how would a human answer when asked, “Are you human?” (defensive? frustrated? sarcastic?) And thus, more meta, how would AI predict a human would answer?
-
@ericharr @pandemona Yep. Still mad about that. 🔫

I just used “progressively enhance” in a conversation with my wife about a site design, and it made complete sense to her.
-
Skip the H and just use IMO. Opinions have nothing to do with being honest, and they are rarely humble, especially when expressed.
-
@Stammy I spy an opportunity to rent one for the afternoon just for the purpose of creating a photo essay of unlikely / inconvenient abandonment scenarios.
-
@mikeindustries @mkruz @bhaggs @dburka @mulligan S1E1 weeds out a lot of viewers immediately (including my wife). Either very intentional or not thought through at all. I tell everyone to skip it, at least until later.
-
@stop I don’t often open App Store anymore (relying on automatic updates). But when I do, and read about the effort that goes into each update, that knowledge inspires more loyalty and affinity and usage.
-
Thank you to app developers, like @Dropbox and @culturedcode and more, who continue to write useful App Store descriptions for each update.
-
@rogie Un-conference where we all meet up at Disneyland once a year.

Let’s call these curved iPhones what they really are: pre-bent. twitter.com/technology/sta…
-
@jlax Could be Tycho’s next album cover.
-
@tdominey I recently discovered the power of its x-ray feature while reading a spy novel. It allowed me to go back and find/reread earlier mentions of code words or names.
-
@bhaggs I have app installation turned off for now on our kids’ iPods, so there’s not even a visible App Store icon. No one would ever know there are updates available in that case.
-
@rogie I would work (design) in the park every week if I could.
-
Real baseball is finally back. I really enjoy working with the audio stream of a game playing in the background.

If you lived in or near SF in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, this thread about the Metreon delivers the nostalgia (and will make you sad about what it’s become). twitter.com/maxkriegervg/s…

@AndrewCrow Did not see the band name at first, and thought this might be a mashup of Rage Against the Machine and New Order.
-
@jw My trick: there’s a rat in separate. Makes no sense, but it helps me every time.

@mkruz @messl @twitter @SnoopDogg @bhaggs 2009’s bird was drawn by Biz’s friend Phil under Biz’s direction before I arrived. 2010 was mine that launched with Phoenix (#newtwitter), and was the first time we used it as part of the logo. 2012 bird was created by West, & when we dropped the type – the bird became the word.
