@bijan Thanks, Bijan. It’s fun to finally get these updates out to everyone.
-
@jbminn Not everyone has access yet to upload a header image on web, but anyone can upload now with the new iOS and Android apps.
-
@jbminn You should be able to see my profile twitter.com/stop or anyone else who has uploaded a header image.
-
@fitzsimons Thanks, Aaron. It’s kinda hard for me to go in any other direction now – some folks know that image so well.
-
@subcide Not that it’s too difficult. Just lots of other things have been prioritized above it.
-
@mike_ftw Somehow knew you’d have some fun with this.
-
You can now position your Twitter profile background image left, right, or center. And also change the overlay from white to black.
-
@noahlt Yes, background pixelated, header is not.
-
@tomcoates @jbrewer I see. For comparison’s sake, see where the new message button is in Mail.app on iPad.
-
@darbooth Aha, but did you see my followup tweet? twitter.com/stop/status/24…
-
@tomcoates @jbrewer Why do you think the position of the tweet button is a bad decision? It was bottom left before, now top right.
-
I recently found the hi-res photo I took at Lake Pukaki in New Zealand, thus, my header photo is now the clear version of my web background.
-
The real reason my web profile background has been pixelated? I lost the original photo, & only had access to a 640×480 sized down version.
-
@nirzardp Really? Most of the backgrounds I’ve seen are photos, and they look great. What about my own profile header?
-
@tomcoates Your tweets are fine for now. It’s your reaction in real time.
-
@Michigglesx3 What’s this about?
-
@mike_ftw Can I expect to see Bea there soon? Or maybe some latch hook?
-
@adamoc On Me (mobile or iPad), tap on the cog button, edit profile. You’ll find the header photo option there.
-
@tomcoates It’s fun watching your reactions go back and forth this morning. Like I’ve got a whole Tom show right in my stream. ;-)
-
@sedefgavaz Stronger, more expressive identity across all Twitter clients.
-
@emilepetrone Cheers, Emile. Let us know how you like the rest of it after playing with it a bit more.
-
@tealtan Already queued up – they’ll get updated later. Thanks.
-
@tomcarmony Thanks, Tom. The team did a great job with them. cc @connors
-
@tariqk @lightyoruichi Yes, header image is completely custom. And web still has a separate additional bg image for the whole page.
-
@meyerweb No – we’ve had designs for this for a long time now. Also, see the new profiles on iPad or web.
-
@tariqk @lightyoruichi Absolutely. Profiles on web even have a few more new options.
-
@emilepetrone Direct access to other accounts via a button on the Me tab. Might even be a shortcut similar to iPhone – haven’t confirmed.
-
A slew of updates from Twitter today, including a brand new Twitter for iPad. blog.twitter.com/2012/09/expand…
-
@adambain Congrats, sir. Well deserved. Be mindful of that bird’s position though…
-
@Causton I’m used to it by now, so it’s not annoyed I get. But I do worry that I miss legitimate messages sometimes. Few & far between.
-
Geez, PHP, I forget one little semicolon, and you get all passive-aggressive on me.
-
@lyndonl I remember Apple promising that would be the fastest and easiest way of ordering. Was true.
-
@camcavers Your own mini-DDOS…
-
A temporary pause in the tweets while everyone hits the refresh button…
-
@jmspool @themattharris This, just tweeted, might explain something. Hang tight. twitter.com/support/status…
-
@JFSIII I had to learn from watching someone else hit the * button.
-
@mdo It stresses me out that there’s a “floor minus one” here, but no zero.
-
@tomcoates @benward Except the last time I tried that, you could only purchase one item at a time. Even more frustrating.
-
@bigchaz Cool. Good to know.
-
@miradu What convenient timing…
-
@dascola Nice. I’m pretty reliant on WordPress as a cms now. But there’s an app for that too.
-
@camcavers I tried Prompt (solo) this past weekend. Good for ssh. But the visual experience of Coda is really nice. Plus Prompt is baked in.
-
@shellen Yes, including not needing to lug a laptop through the airport on our next trip.
-
Kind of awesome: the first-time experience editing a remote file on the server with an iPad (using Diet Coda). Kind of fun too.
-
@jmwhittaker @MkJones Let me know if you need more material. I have lots…
-
@MkJones @jmwhittaker Interesting. Sounds like everything could use more of that?
-
@mitali Exactly. I tweeted almost that exact thought about year ago, and meant it in both interpretations.
-
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with semantic differences between simple and easy, and the unbalanced pursuit of one at the expense of the other.
