@bhaggs The great thing though is that we know how to get around easily, what to avoid, and how to be prepared for the weather.
-
@supertamsf Not as many as there used to be.
-
Classic SF experience today: rode the F down Market and out to the Wharf, foggy weather, sea lions, carousel, crab bisque in a bread bowl.
-
@pmaiorana @ev Our eng team is aware, and working on whatever’s causing the slowed scrolling.
-
@75th Good point – I’ve wondered about that too. @atebits?
-
@addison No h8. Just lack of love. ;-)
-
With all these eight bit avatars in my timeline, everyone is starting to look the same. Do not like.
-
@aarron I’ve also been searching over my own tweets via @MomentoApp on my phone. It finds everything.
-
@aarron As @brendandawes pointed out, topsy.com is a possibility, though doesn’t seem to include everything. Use from:aarron in your query.
-
For the record, the folks from @simplenoteapp were very helpful in recovering my data yesterday. Still love the product’s simplicity.
-
RT @kevinweil: SO COOL. The Twitter logo is on the front of @Teamradioshack‘s Pro Tour jersey for 2011: livestrong.com/teamradioshack…
-
@mko No, wasn’t unfortunately. I’d been using JustNotes on the desktop, but didn’t pay attention to local storage.
-
@fromedome Yep – web has nothing in it either.
-
Seemingly lost ALL data that was in @simplenoteapp due to a sync glitch. Haven’t been able to recover it yet.
-
@justcameo Yes – it will use Twitter’s shortener automatically.
-
@justcameo It’s automatic – just paste in a URL, and note the character count.

Woman on muni this morning is shaking her phone vigorously every couple minutes like it’s a cocktail shaker. Oh, she’s playing Boggle.
-
@alvintan Yes, I think that’s coming in a future version.
-
@FollowJorge Apparently, outside of TimeMachine, lots of people like CrashPlan for the notion that can do both onsite and offsite.
-
@GBukalders @lorenb Look on any profile view, in the gray bar at the very bottom of the UI.
-
@KaiBrach @cameronmoll Looked at Arc, but cost of S3 is too prohibitive for the amount of GB I have. Plus, it will increase over time.
-
@cameronmoll Signed up for a trial with them when everyone suggested. Extremely slow initial backup so far – less than 3% in 2 weeks so far.
-
@jmspool We debated the same thing for Follow / Unfollow. Which is why the button changes to Following. “Liked” would be better there.
-
@MarkPoppen Not sure what you mean – I can click on every link in the app. Have you found a bug?
-
@beingpresent That’s a good one.
-
@beingpresent That’s probably not the norm. Most current clients would keep the copy cached, so they’d still be visible if already loaded.
-
@cheeaun There might have been. I looked away for a few seconds, but when I looked back, it was gone from its spot.
-
I just saw a tweet appear in Twitter/Mac, then a few seconds later, it vanished. Sure enough, tweet deleted. User streams FTW.

The little 9-year-old girl, killed today in Tucson: Christina Taylor Greene, born September 11, 2001. azstarnet.com/news/local/art…
-
@luxuryluke I’m not thrilled with that position. Hoping for improvements there.
-
@vanshea Think of it as your invisible superfriend. Invoke it whenever needed. Otherwise, it stays out of the way.
-
No way it’d be true. But this li’l exchange is funny enough to capture & share. Thanks, @room34. http://twitpic.com/3o0v2c
-
@hemeon Beauty. We were there last week for 3 hours. But then half the family got sick and we had to turn around and drive back home.
-
@yaykyle Profile view, Follow button is at the very bottom of the UI in the gray bar. Non-obvious, I know.
-
@mko Seems to be going around. Sure you and I weren’t in the same cafe recently? Feel better.
-
@jfmacvay It’s just painting the wrong picture for people who don’t understand yet.
-
@jfmacvay True, but Twitter is never described as a microblog. It’s *microblogging*, which emphasizes the publishing/writing side.
-
The last line of that 56pg iTunes Store Terms & Conditions you have to agree to every couple of weeks?
“Last updated 21 June 2010”
-
@jimramsey Laughing out loud. It’s sad that I totally know what you mean.
-
@jfmacvay Different argument. The problem is for folks not on Twitter yet. They cite the reason is because they have nothing to tweet.
-
@payco But I’m not sure if there’s a limit of how many tweets are kept in memory at any given time.
-
@payco If you have user streams turned on, there’s no refreshing. Tweets just get added to the top as they’re published.
-
@payco Not sure what happens to the bottom, but you can always scroll down, and more tweets will load automatically, regardless.
-
@jfmacvay @pickyin That’s the point though – you never need to tweet to get tons of value out of Twitter.
-
@adactio Exactly. In the early days, it was about publishing and a voice. But even then, also about connecting with interesting people.
-
For people not on Twitter, “blogging” means writing. A big blank box staring at you that must be filled in to get or create value.
-
@Trenti Note that the tweet button doesn’t even show there until you focus in the box.
-
@Trenti Actually, with #newtwitter, we debated eliminating it there too, but opted instead for a reduced box until it’s focused.
-
@kevinmarks Information need not lack emotion. That my cousin just got engaged in Ireland is still information, just highly impactful to me.
-
One of the greatest disservices to Twitter has been (and is) to label it a microblogging service.
