.@apelad has already been busy. The new Twitter bird, as Robin – flickr.com/photos/apelad/…
-
@KatieS I was amazed when I randomly encountered Tivoli Gardens while walking around Copenhagen. I thought, city residents: easily “amused”.
-
@jonikorpi It was never there. What you saw was a photoshopped screenshot.
-
@ladddesign @WeAreArkive In addition to the optimistic, upward-facing bird, you must also consider how it fills a square icon.
-
@iA It took some of us a while to come around. I think it was initially harder to give up the old than to accept the new.
-
@bradezone Have you noticed that it’s been bird only on twitter.com since December?
-
@bradezone Oh, and on no words, we’ve been planning this for nearly 2 years now. But it took the word/bird lockup time to gain familiarity.
-
@bradezone Part of the discomfort comes from comparing it too closely with the old bird. Once that memory fades, the angle feels better.
-
@bradezone I struggled with that at first, too. But now, after seeing it for a couple months, it just feels right.
-
@Jason_Morrow And not brea.st?
-
@bradezone To each, his own. Also, this version of the bird grows on most folks over time. It’s not always immediate.
-
Twitter Gives you the Bird, via @ucllc underconsideration.com/brandnew/archi…
-
@ucllc You’ll likely see more uses and contexts soon.
-
@ucllc Some of the most common uses seen around the web will be in sub-16px sizes, like the version in the Tweet and Follow buttons.
-
@ucllc You’ll find a small amount of variety on subdomains like support.twitter.com, stories.twitter.com, and dev.twitter.com.
-
@ucllc Most of the applications at this point are entirely digital.
-
“Like a fine five-dollar bottle of artisanal water…” Love this, especially the comment thread after. gawker.com/5916390/is-twi…
-
@escapist Whew.
-
@joshhemsley Aw. Ours has done that a couple times now. But she goes all the way to the floor, and definitely is not still sleeping then.
-
See what’s possible with simple geometry? The new Twitter bird logo, rendered near accurate, entirely with CSS: labs.upperdog.se/twitter-logo-i…
-
@upperdog_se Impressive. Helps show how simple the new bird is.
-
@dorelvis And the word here is Twitter.
-
@Cennydd Or rather, laminate it.
-
@seacue At least it didn’t say that for floor 9!
-
@romainst You can certainly use text in a sentence. It’s more when you’re branding a section or piece of content that the bird will suffice.
-
@gilbertlara Cool – mich closer. Spacing around the bird feels a little tight. Any chance of somehow giving him more room?
-
@romainst You could also try something similar to our own lockups (no Twitter text): support.twitter.com
-
@romainst You could if you absolutely had to, but try to avoid placing bird and generic word next to each other.
-
@oul That will get fixed soon – not everything could go out in one batch. Thanks for the patience.
-
@romainst No more text. The bird is all you need.
-
@gilbertlara See the version that appears in our buttons about 1/4 down the page: twitter.com/about/logos
-
@815media Looking sharp already. Thanks.
-
@didierh Quick work!
-
@Mathewh Cheers, Matthew.
-
@Mathewh Not everything can be changed at once. That page, too, will be changed soon though.
-
@mattconvente Don’t know about a deadline yet. I can’t speak officially, but I think we just want you to convert over as soon as you can.
-
Thanks and mad props to @bigchaz and @briggles for their beautiful video introducing the new #Twitterbird:
-
RT @jasonsantamaria: I’ve always loved this point of view from Paul Rand on logo redesigns: gim.ie/KMo3 /cc @stop
-
@LittleUK @jack Yes, thanks. Coming in another update later today for technical reasons.
-
@teagadinho Yes, over time.
-
@JplusCplusM That resource takes longer to update for technical reasons. It’ll get there.
-
@jayrobinson It will grow on you over time too.
-
@shaneadams Ouch. However, all the old t-shirts and stuff around the office now are collector’s items.
-
@gilbertlara Says who? Have you seen the adjustments we made to it for small sizes?
-
@trammell Awesome. Period.
-
@TimHaines Typically, it should be blue. Though some circumstances will want to avoid color.
-
Taking flight… Starting today you’ll begin to notice a simplified Twitter bird. blog.twitter.com/2012/06/taking… #TwitterBird
