@JustinMezzell I know this is just simple shapes pushed together. But it also looks very Disney-esque to me. Or more specifically like a pattern Mary Blair might have used. Very cool. (Useful too.)
-
@cameronmoll @jasonsantamaria @Drew_Church I still consider this one of the best pieces I own (includes the misspelling). It was a steal at whatever price we pledged on Kickstarter, and is still a steal now, considering all the labor, craft, and detail you poured into it.

@stop @markdalgleish The quill icon for new tweet was brought into the picture around the same time.
-
@markdalgleish I think we created the birdhouse icon and started using it for home in all clients about 8 or 9 years ago, with the launch of #newtwitter. Current version is mostly unchanged from the original.
-
@ugmonk Same. It’s mostly only getting used on my phone now, which means it‘s not being used when I’m working.
-
@DBeckner I get those too. I don’t think it’s anyone from Google, but rather, someone trying to use Google’s name.
-
@cap I was naive to this until our landscaper strongly recommended planting two of each type of fruit tree we wanted, rather than one. I must not have paid much attention in biology class.
-
@subcide I doubt it is, but that would be extra good if it were Safari.

Imagine if we blamed users for their browser settings, or lack of knowledge of how to adjust them. twitter.com/i/events/11233…

Cancer sucks. We lost another dear friend to it this morning. After 6 separate battles, fighting to gain more time with her family, this was her last. Thank you, Jaime, for being a shining example of love, joy, and positivity. Forever #TeamJaime teamjaime.org

@tomcoates Did you stand up for your first showing?

-
@jw Dude, you’re in California. It’s the straw that makes you stand out, you rebel.
-
@rogie @Disneyland Yeah, you know scores like this aren’t possible with a bit of help. About 8 seconds right in front of Zurg this time. Also helps to feel very in tune with your laser.
-
@danimalnelson @jw Also may have just naively/ignorantly left out anything other than desktop and mobile, ignoring the client’s requests in the process. Remember the (misinformed) practice of a fixed-width desktop version plus a mobile version afterthought, with nothing in between?
-
@jw Ah, that classic “withhold the medium-sized layout and hold it hostage” design pricing strategy. Remember those days?
Me neither.
-
@kfury Maybe the whole thing, or nearly the whole thing is edible? Kind of like some of the inner leaves of a regular ‘choke? Doesn’t really look that way from the outside, but I can dream.
-
@AndrewCrow @Oreo This photo is on its way to becoming a Where’s Waldo game of spot the original Oreos.
-
@smarty Aw, dude. So sorry. Love how much you’ve shared of him over time. 😢
-
@sperte We’re not in the Bay Area anymore, so it was either Vegas or Pappy & Harriets for us. We chose a quick Vegas getaway. Travel to see them if you must. No regrets.
-
@stop Such a good show. So much energy. Fun sounds, hard beats, beautiful vocals.
-
Checked the @CHVRCHES site a couple weeks ago to see if/when they were on tour. Now we’re in Vegas to see them at Brooklyn Bowl.
-
Took some recent experience experimenting with WooCommerce, plus our Greater Ink base, and made this mini fundraising site for our good friend, @laderalady, who is fighting cancer for the 6th(!) time. Support if you can. 🙏 teamjaime.org

@Jason_Morrow We used to make something almost exactly like this for a couple of years after college (evoo, garlic, anchovies + pasta). Need to make it again soon.
-
@chadjsanderson @mikekarnj @dankarbay @KateKendall I find it ironic that of the list of products in that description—App Store, Apple Music, Podcasts, and iBooks—none of them are best in class, nor do any of them represent the joy and passion Apple products tend to inspire.
-
@sippey Most surprising to me: Lord Varys (hair!). Followed by how well kept The Hound is.

Great day to pick up some baseball diamond dictionary prints or t-shirts from the talented @jeremyreiss. #MLB #OpeningDay2019 jreiss.bigcartel.com

@craiglauer @flexibits Yep, me too. Even tho it looked appealing, I brushed off the announcement when Cardhop for Mac came out. But now that it’s on iOS too… sold. Makes utility apps so much more powerful and fun to use.
-
Continually impressed with the @flexibits team. They make polished utility apps with interactions so smooth and powerful, they should be the defaults on Mac and iOS. Next up: Cardhop, now also on iOS…
-
Next up, iPhone SE+, right?
-
@placenamehere Crazy, right? Tho sometimes, that era feels like more than a decade ago.

@stop John’s followup after the FastCo article was published is worth reading too, and spells out his intent, vs what got published and spun a little. designintech.report/2019/03/20/fas…
-
@Folletto Not until now, but this makes sense to see in hindsight. Thanks for pointing to it.
-
@dascola Blurring, with designers moving to product roles, and “product designer” sometimes encompassing both. In my past experience, Product referred to a product manager role or group of people responsible for pulling teams together, timelines, prioritization, communication, and more.
-
@stop And not just “omit”, but also undersize or oversize any of the three legs, the stool won’t be as stable.
-
Saying “design isn’t important” is pushing the pendulum a little too far. I’ve always advocated that design is one leg of a three-legged stool consisting of product, engineering, and design. Omit any one of the three legs, and it won’t stand well. fastcompany.com/90320120/john-…

@noahlt It’s not coming to me now. I used to bring up delight a lot, and aiming for that. And I remember mentioning the overused Henry Ford quote once. This seems like something aspirational that I could have come close saying to when I used to speak at NHO.
-
@SaraSoueidan @chriscoyier Thanks for sharing your Nested links / layered links solutions a while back last year. Sara – your version solved exactly what I needed to do.

No biggie. Just a shot from inside the three… OF THE OPPOSITE GOAL. twitter.com/espn/status/11…

@cyanhex @dbedingfield @mkruz @design @research We could always count on Dave to sweat the details (sometimes literally) and in a way that considered every opinion, view, and input. No doubt why he often felt enormous pressure in front of an audience representing all those inputs.
-
@dbedingfield @mkruz @design @research Hoo-dawg! Eight! And to think it all started out with a nervous demo of Qwotes in a conference room overlooking Yerba Buena. I remember like it was yesterday. Thanks for everything you contributed over the years, to the product, the team, and me. Miss you Dbed!

Agree here. Climate change is not a left vs right issue. It’s a global/human issue that affects (and will continue to affect) all of us. Some more harshly than others. twitter.com/rabble/status/…

Deeply saddened to hear the news coming from New Zealand. Love and strength to my friends there, and all the wonderful, kind people of such a beautiful country. 💔
-
@HurlyMcDingus I see that so often. Usually by a different seller (from the single qty) who seems to be gaming the system and preying on folks who don’t pay attention.
-
@omid I was never a Siri fan on the phone. But using it with the watch is so natural and simple. Setting timers or alarms, adding reminders, asking for calculations, sending text responses, etc. Also, going for runs with a playlist synced to the watch + AirPods, and nothing else.
