@bhaggs @mikeindustries Right. I’ve already researched a bit on the Black Wall Street Massacre, which I don’t ever remember hearing about before. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulsa_rac…
-
@mikeindustries Does 3 episodes in 2 days so far count as binge rate?
-
Still debating whether it was a smart decision to begin watching Watchmen this past weekend. Three episodes in so far.
-
@HurlyMcDingus I think it’s mostly the hair, but a bit of the makeup too. Nice work.
-
@HurlyMcDingus Nice. I’m also spying a bit of “may the odds be ever in your favor” vibe.
-
This is so well done. Love that he never drops the emphasis. Excitement for every letter and every occupation. Also, #stamina
-
@jessperate @motherfuton @benblumenrose Yep – I still regret that split too. Once Marketing officially formed, they didn’t want to be treated as client service work, and they wanted control over their own resources. Same happened with Sales. I always liked the early/fluid integration of teams and roles we had.
-
@motherfuton @benblumenrose Same with early Twitter. Brand/Marketing Designers were part of the main Design team. Partly because we were smaller back then. And because we integrated so much of that work into Product and vice versa. Design initially reported to CEO, then back and forth to Product & Eng.

@andrewbg Spying lots of Compass Pro usage in the Adobe MAX sessions. 😉
-
@jonfavs I might have missed it if you’ve already had him on. But @ElieNYC would be a great guest on the Pod if he were willing. twitter.com/ElieNYC/status…

Looking forward to this amazing 3-part series, The Age of Nature, narrated by @umathurman, directed by @suzumibaci. Starts tonight in the US on @PBS.
-
@ubiquitic Yes. Though I’d say *improved* upon it, rather than borrowed. Looking at the comparison now, remember how “banded” the 4 looked?
-
@BenLumen New Mini is about .25″ taller than the original 5/SE, but also .25″ shorter than the new SE. Also new Mini is almost an ounce more than the 2016 SE (3.99oz for SE vs. 4.76oz for Mini).
-
@mikeindustries Gotta save a few things for the 12s. (Even though this could just be a software delay in validating TouchID on pixel-backed glass.)
-
Still waiting for iPhone 12 Mini at the original SE size, but with an edge to edge screen.
-
iPhone can stand up on it’s own again. Welcome back, iPhone 5/SE industrial design.
-
@clearleft @andybudd @clagnut Well done. It’s great to see not only that Clearleft is still going, but going strong and honorably. Cheers to your entire team. (And congrats to the new owners!)
-
So grateful for this progress. But there’s still such a long fight ahead. Eyes up. Chest out. Rage on, Rivs. twitter.com/jacobpuzey/sta…
-
@origiful You may already have this, but lots of helpful information here, including how to update your registration and confirm that you want them to use your DL sig on file: sos.ca.gov/elections/freq…
-
@origiful Yes, but many anyone in CA can opt to register or update their voter registration when applying for or renewing their license. In which case, the voter sig on file is updated with your DL sig. Not sure about how that works if doing this remotely/online though, like you’d need to.
-
@origiful Not confirmed, but I remember reading somewhere recently that the voter reg uses your sig from several places, one of them being your DL or state ID. Maybe further searching on that will turn up answers?

RT @jameshamblin: Masks are a personal choice in the same way that driving on the sidewalk is a personal choice.
-
TIL: I’m reading a book in the Kindle app on my phone. I came across a word I’ve seen before, but never knew what it meant. I tapped it, intending to copy and paste it into Google. Instead a little dictionary popped up right on top of the text. I love when tech works like this.
-
@finkel I have a sweet tooth, and like sugary cakey things. But yes, multiple times I’ve tried a piece of cake or cupcake and thought, wow, this is too sweet to continue eating.
-
@jmspool Didn’t you and I exchange some tweets about this a while back? I remember you citing some research or results for how the approach was working.
-
If you could jump 2 months into the future and see the outcome of a vote/election that didn’t go the way you hoped, what are you going to wish you could/would have done differently?
What’s stopping you from doing that now?
-
@stop If only early Twitter employees had reserved certain keywords for search shortcuts, we’d be able to perform simple searches like “from:me searchterm”, or “in:likes searchterm” and Twitter would know how to alias [me] and [likes] based on the user doing the search.
-
This evergreen tweet still proves useful to me about once every 3-4 months. Instead of memorizing the keyboard shortcut like I probably should, I search Twitter for “from:stop mouse” and I have my solution. twitter.com/stop/status/10…

Whether you know of Rivs and his battle with cancer, or not, this is beautiful and touching. Rage on, Rivs. twitter.com/walmsleyruns/s…

@mikefarrell Regardless, I loved how SF’s standing architecture reveals lines like these on a map that so obviously cut through multiple blocks, even if the tracks have long been paved over.
-
@mikefarrell Not sure if that line matches up, but I’m betting they’re part of the original cable car lines that used to run all over SF. See this route map from 1945. Looks like a couple lines ran diagonally down toward Cesar Chavez.
-
@danrubin Memories. Seems so long ago. I had a photo I posted on launch day (and more in the days following). But a hacker deleted my first ~40 photos when they took control of my account a few years ago. Never got them restored.
-
@snackfight Kinda looks like it did when I started there in the mid 90s.
-
This hits hard. I do not envy anyone in this position.
“I’m waiting for real leadership, but maybe it’s not going to happen. It’s me. It’s the biggest decision of my career, and the one part I’m certain about is it’s going to hurt either way.”

@hotdogsladies @goldman And the throw was *after* a full-on sprint to the ball. Beauty.
-
@SecurityGeorge We miss you too, George. Hope you’re staying safe and healthy.
-
Not sure where to get masks that actually fit your kids? Check out my daughter’s business she started just a month ago, @kidcoverco. This is her and her younger sister in four of the over 80 current masks she makes and sells. See the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews. KidCover.co

@stop And then the diagnosis and tough news. Rage on, Tommy. We love you. instagram.com/p/CDB-IllnEWl/

Update on Rivs. Still in a coma, but family and med staff are hopeful after a transfer to another hospital in Scottsdale. Continue positive vibes, prayers, and waves of hope. #teamrivs🏴☠️ azcentral.com/story/sports/o…
-
@ericharr Thanks, Eric. You would absolutely adore Tommy if you ever met him, or ever got to watch a few of his videos. You both have similar drives, and a love for optimum fitness and efficiency. Also, he’s humble, and so so knowledgable about so many things. Praying he can pull through.
-
The trainer I’ve been running with for the past 4 months, @tommy_rivs is in the ICU on a vent, fighting for his life. I idolize this man, he seems immortal to me. He would hate anyone asking, but he and his family need any help we can give right now. gofundme.com/f/Tommy-Rivers…

Scientists get excited about the possibilities of cameras on beetles, and robotic bugs. I see the beginnings of Black Mirror S3 E6: “Hated in the Nation”. twitter.com/CNN/status/128…
-
@EricPorter @kidcoverco Yes, she’s making many of them herself, sometimes with the help of her grandmother, who taught her how to sew. Family operation, everyone pitches in. We have 3 sewing machines in our house now, and fortunately a separate craft room that has become production central.
-
Never did I think I’d be spending a good part of each day color-correcting a few hundred photos of my daughters in face covers.
