@stop @owenbrainard @kh Wait, but I just read your bio, and feel tricked… like *you* should have inside tips for *me*, since we’ll be there tomorrow. ☺️
-
@stop @owenbrainard @kh And then just a short walk away are a string of moderate scale chain restaurants (Roy’s, PF Chang’s, Bubba Gump, CPK, Cheesecake Fact) at the Garden Walk. All with bars, obvi.
-
@stop @owenbrainard @kh There’s also a great new bar at the Grand CA (called GCH Craftsman) you may be able to get into. Go thru the exit in DCA directly to the Grand, or tell the security guard out front that you have dinner rez at Napa Rose so they allow you in if you’re not staying at the Grand.
-
@stop @owenbrainard @kh Apart from that, if you’re open to Downtown Disney, many of those are on Open Table, and sometimes have last minute availability (within a week)…
-
@owenbrainard @kh We’ve been so often, and almost always forget the reservations until it’s too late. Inside the parks, your best bet is to walk up and ask if there’s a stand-by (no rez) line. For instance, the bars in and beside Lamplight Lounge in DCA used to have standby lines…

A week early. But anyone who lives to 104 likely deserves plenty of good birthday wishes. Happy Birthday, Gerald! 105 will be here before you know it! twitter.com/bravenewmalden…

@Stammy Also renewed entirely online earlier this year. But forgot to update passport details after renewing it last year. Caused a minor delay coming back in last week, but an officer was able to check and wave me on (after reminding me to update my passport in GE.)
-
@stop And here’s the dialog that pops up after tapping “leave this conversation”…
-
@meyerweb I latched on to my specific use case for it so quickly, I already have a hard time imagining how others would use it (and probably how Twitter intended its use). “Leave” ends up being very similar to “mute conversation”.
-
@tw Similar I guess. In my case, I’m happy to control when my username gets removed from any of these <stop *> tweets. I only wish I had a bit of algorithmic control over it, similar to what @blockpartyapp_ does. Some #precrime detection.
-
@stop Apparently it’s not yet available to everyone. Here’s the Help description on the feature. help.twitter.com/en/using-twitt…
-
@hellomuller @elliotjaystocks Similar advice to me from our Department Chair (~30 years ago) when I voiced concern that the single shared computer for the Art Department was not enough.
-
@mikeindustries @Chik This is your new shower head.
-
@PeakTobi You might have squeaked by if the first tweet didn’t mention (boast of) 6 kids.
“Here’s how I’ve gotten so much done…”
We only have 2, so I can only imagine the overtime a parent of 6 contributes. I suspect she does way more than you even know. Not just a rock, she’s the hero.
-
If you come out swinging that you get all this done while having 6 kids, your regimen better factor in crediting your wife in the first tweet, rather than your last. She’s 99% of your secret. twitter.com/tobi_emonts/st…
-
@martymadrid Perfect.
-
@stop Look what we drove around Firenze today. A little challenging at first, especially starting uphill, but so fun.
-
@stop So apparently, multiple friends were in on this Euro adventure. It’s been several days of rolling surprises as friends & family continue to show up and join us in person for an amazing few days together. First Paris, and now melting away in the warm hills of Tuscany. Saluti!
-
@brupm Hey! I don’t think we’re here very long. Plans take us other places, still unknown to me.
-
@stop Well, after quick stops in Dallas and London, today, I woke up early in Paris. A brief run around the Jardins du Trocadero in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. And now, breakfast!
-
I have the best wife. She often goes above and beyond to do something for me & others. I have a big birthday coming up, and she’s been working on some kind of surprise for over a year. I legit know not what’s in store over the next few days. But I’m so looking forward to it all.
-
@tomcoates You’re running it with me next year. Add 4 Jun 2023 to your calendar now.
-
Since starting to run, I’ve had this arbitrary mantra I often think of using as a goal:
“6 before 6” (6 miles before 6am)
I missed that goal by 3 hours today. But maybe since I did 13 before 9 last weekend, I should cut myself some slack.
-
@EvanTahler @kfury So much enlightenment at once.
-
@EvanTahler @kfury This. When I was a kid, I only knew it as Putt Putt, because that’s all I saw in the midwest. Wasn’t until I moved out here that my horizons broadened to discover more than the orange-painted steel bumper-lined greens.
-
@cmclymer This was beautiful to read. I missed it the first time. So glad it wound up in front of me this time. Thank you!
-
@mor10 After every single run, it gets rinsed and wiped clean.
-
@chrisjdavis Bring pillows or something to prop against the back seats. Depending on how your seats fold forward and lock in certain positions, you may still need support down below. Remember that the back of your car will be facing up hill.
-
@chrisjdavis Our kids loved it. Esp during Covid when most theaters were still closed. Watching it from the back seat of a car can be more challenging these days tho, as seats today come up much higher than bench seats when I was a kid. Some park hatchbacks backwards and watch out the back.
-
@mathowie I still have lots of those in Contacts too, including handles for icq, msn, and yahoo. Remember adium?
-
@1Password Hoping for the reintroduction of this feature soon. Thank you for replying back so quickly, and for being so active with your user community. It’s one of the reasons we love the product and the team behind it!
-
@1Password Clearly your user base agrees, and is just starting to discover the glaring omission of this feature. Please bring it back. 🙏
-
@1Password I understand what Collections are. But are you really suggesting that we go now need to go through thousands of records and move them to different vaults based on whether or not they should show in the browser? Why can’t “never suggest in browser” just be brought back?
-
@1Password Hello – in 1P8/Mac, where did “never display in the browser” go for a specific record?
-
@optimiced I remember when that came out, but haven’t seen it. 20 years old!
-
@om @trengarajan Bingo. Also that 1 to many often means 100k+ or 1m+. So factor in fanout logic to every timeline, device cache, live update of notifications vs read/seen state, plus everything in @Stammy’s thread… and I can only start to imagine why editing tweets after fanout would be so hard.
-
@johnnie Always great to see your face in these Apple event videos. Cool feature to show off too.
-
@stop @mikeindustries @mathowie Plus, they take a serious amount of time commitment.
-
@mikeindustries @mathowie I used to take days to recover from anything longer than 5ish miles. But those are cake now. Maybe it’s just that our bodies aren’t used to 10+ runs yet. Too infrequent.
-
@mikeindustries @mathowie Knees feel like crap tonight. But some time in the hot tub today with the jets helped. And so did time with my Theragun a running friend gifted me last year. Wish I could use that thing right on my knees, but it doesn’t do well against bone.
-
@mathowie @mikeindustries Ouch. I can’t ever imagine running a full. But that’s also what I always said to my wife about the half a few years ago – that I’d never put my body thru stress for that long of a duration. I already have knee issues sometimes. So I may heed your history as being forewarned.
-
@mathowie @mikeindustries What replaced “used to be”?
-
@mikeindustries I know those days. Unplanned, but they somehow turn into long runs. I only did 2 of them before this race: 13 and 10 miles. Didn’t intend to go that far for either, but I felt good so I kept going.
-
@mikeindustries Thanks. Slow start, cuz I was worried about leaving gas in the tank. But I crushed a couple miles on the back side at almost a 9:00 pace. Next goal: under 2hrs.
-
@bergrbergr Thanks, Sean. Feels good to be done for sure!
