@mathowie Always with style.
-
@mathowie Dad jeans left loose to flail around the chain ankle. Brave, Haughey, brave. 😉
-
@PaulAnnett Yep, same thing. Most of the time, you don’t notice what those blockers block. But every now and then, you really notice how aggressive they are.
-
@PaulAnnett Ha! Thanks, Paul. What’s funny is that we had to intentionally change a couple class names, because the blocker I use was hiding elements because it thought they were cookie-related!
-
@dbedingfield Awesome. Thanks so much, Dave!
-
Girl Scout Cookie season is different this year. No in-person sales for us. All online. Emma and I grabbed a domain and built a website to explain. She has big goals this year, despite the pandemic. So please donate or order as many as you can from her! 🙏 getcookies.org

@enduranceron @tommy_rivs @jacobpuzey Thanks, that makes sense. I was hoping you had discovered a hidden way to do it from the machine, given that (at least the newer ones) seem to run on top of Android.
-
@enduranceron @tommy_rivs @jacobpuzey Agree, these places Tommy takes us are incredible. (I just completed part 1 of the 10k series.) I now want to visit many of them. I’ve been taking photos of the screen with my phone for most of them. Are you grabbing screenshots from a NordicTrack machine? Care to share how?

This will be a pretty big deal for design. The setup of this piece is long. But the payoff comes in gif form about halfway down, and the usefulness of this new CSS comes to full light. Who among us have not cursed vertical spacing because of any font’s text box? twitter.com/jmspool/status…

@stop @mor10 @CharlieTranen (I learned the hard way from our gate over swinging like yours, which damaged the hinges and the wood of the gate.)
-
@mor10 @CharlieTranen That may suffice. But if the gate is slammed shut again with enough force, bolts may not hold it. As suggested, you need a stop that prevents the gate from over swinging. A simple strip of wood can work. Or smaller pre-made stops like these. hooverfence.com/gate-hardware/…

@markjardine So sorry, Mark. I know the pain you and your wife are feeling. Especially if Naru was the first companion you both added to your household as a family. What helped me was time, and dreams of our dog, Jackson, running and playing and fetching endless balls. 💔

So long, Alex. 😢 twitter.com/Jeopardy/statu…

@richhemsley @philcoffman I’m not up for the distance of a full or half yet. Working through lower-back pain and strengthening my core to prevent injury. So I’m still working upwards on single runs. Working toward 8-10 mile runs next.
-
@philcoffman I’m a little behind you at 470 miles for 2020. I didn’t start until April, about a month into lockdown. But agree – so therapeutic. I’ve never really been a runner, so this is all new to me. Same goal of increasing my numbers by quite a bit this year.
-
@leesteffen Finally, something that didn’t end up as a bland, single line of letter-spaced sans serif.
-
@mkruz @davidbellona @DSGNRSteve @Stammy @jencotton @cyanhex Congrats, Stammy! Also, no screen was ever big enough to capture the height of Mike’s hair.
-
@stop @JackEllis @usefathom @pjrvs Sidenote… You may know, but 1Blocker sadly already added usefathom dot com to its list of trackers. But at least custom domains work around that.
-
@stop @JackEllis @anildash @tinysubversions @usefathom @pjrvs Oh, of course, it was @mdo’s thread a couple weeks ago. Anil- might be useful for you to poke through, as complement to your own replies. twitter.com/mdo/status/133…
-
@JackEllis @anildash @tinysubversions @usefathom @pjrvs Looking forward to v3 then. Just signed up a couple days ago after seeing a tweet from someone else I respect (forget who atm). Appreciate your approach and philosophy so far.
-
@anildash @tinysubversions In the process of trying and switching over to @usefathom. Tiny bit more than Simple Analytics, from what I can see on the surface.
-
@aworkinglibrary @COVID19Tracking @kissane Yay to smart people in good positions with high impact.
-
@RauCreativity @1BlockerApp Yep, I’ve found that too. It’s fairly aggressive at blocking in its default state. Fortunately, it can be fine-tuned on the go, or turned off completely for certain domains.
-
Just discovered the blocker I use for Safari, @1BlockerApp, can hide any element by CSS selector, either globally or per domain. Syncs with iOS too. So many everyday UIs can be cleaned up by hiding elements you don’t want/need on screen. Great power⇔great responsibility.
-
@owenbrainard They don’t know the discomfort of prying away a corded analog receiver away from the ear after an hour long conversation with a friend that lived 2 miles away. Saying goodbye took transition time (and coordination for the next call).

@stop @nonformality When we finally make our way out of the bahnhof and realize we better find a place to stay in Hanover, we learn then that Guns N Roses was playing in Hanover THAT NIGHT, and that all hotels and hostels are overbooked. We finally found a hotel with one room left!
-
@stop @nonformality When we finally understand that we have to transfer to a local train to get into Hanover, then make it to the bahnhof there, it looks like World War 3. Thousands of people everywhere, chaos. We have no idea what is happening, or why we were diverted…
-
@nonformality Yes, that adventure was stressful at the time, but we laugh about it now. Imagine rolling along, then the train stopping somewhere outside of Hanover, and all the announcements are in German, as everyone (but us) gets off the train because we have no idea what’s happening.
-
@stop @nonformality We shall return to Deutschland (hopefully next Christmas) so we still have more pins to add there, possibly one for Berlin. Ich lerne Deutsch so I can communicate better for that. My next online course is taught from Berlin at the DeutschAkademie starting 4 Jan. 3/
-
@stop @nonformality With no way to continue East, we had to adjust our plans, and ended up heading south on the only running trains, and made an unplanned visit to Nürnberg, then continued on to München. (Which forced us to cut out both Berlin and Prague for that holiday.)… 2/
-
@nonformality Ah, and there was supposed to be a pin. On our holiday three summers ago, we were traveling by train from Amsterdam to Berlin, and then on to Prague. But a freak tornado or some kind of storm in northern Germany disrupted all trains, and stranded us in Hanover… 1/
-
We started 2020 with such high hopes for a good year. Let’s hope 2021 brings better and brighter days at some point. Until it does, let’s hunker down and beat this thing together. Strength, peace, and good health in 2021 to all of you.
-
@joeyjanisheck We think so too. Fingers crossed for all of us.
-
@arnekriedemann @andybudd Ja, und ich lerne jetzt Deutsch. Ich weiß noch nicht viel. 🤐
-
@andybudd Hah, doubtful Andy. Those pins are a mix of where we’ve been, and where we want to go, both in the near future (like Germany next Christmas, and someday further out.

We got ours from @pinAdventureMap, a small team in Latvia that designs, prints, and sells several different world and regional maps in multiple color schemes and sizes. Ours took about 2 weeks from order date to delivery in CA. twitter.com/stop/status/13…
-
@brupm Small team in Latvia that designs, prints, and sells them, rolled, mounted, or mounted/framed. Can include the pins too. pinadventures.com
-
@rsarver All to make them look cute and approachable before they turn into Dark Troopers.
-
@toddthomas Not sure what his fur is made of – some kind of soft (possibly polyester) micro stands. It’s made for weather. All assembled via a steel frame with bolts and wing nuts.
-
@WooCommerce What’s the status on moving orders to their own table in the database? I know there are plugins that can do this, but I’m hesitant to try them if an official method is in the works. Sep tables would make syncing between dev/staging sites much simpler.
-
@isaach That’s when the thread went sideways for me too. twitter.com/stop/status/13…

I never thought English could sound so foreign. Especially when I know very little about 3D rendering. twitter.com/levork/status/…
-
@adiwise @TravisFischer Our household was holding on for a post-credits scene that revealed who 22 became. Or did the end imply that 22 actually represented a new outlook on his own life?
-
Soul was good. Story was confusing at first on where it was going, but it worked, even though it left questions unanswered. Animation and rendering were superb. What really stood out to me was the musical texture throughout. Looking forward to exploring the soundtrack.
-
@daveJay She couldn’t stand the idea of separation.
-
Last episode of Mando… wow. My daughter thinks it was the worst ending ever, and I think it’s one of the best. When the hood came off was 💯

@faresende @jencotton This is not seem like the @mikeindustries recommended 🚿. (Sorry you have to deal with this.)
