#1D4D is on. To participate (or lurk) make onedayfordesign.org and twitter.com/#!/search/%231… your bases for the next 24 hours.
-
@mikeindustries Sad, isn’t it? Looks like you just hooked @luxuryluke too. Such a pusher.
-
@mikeindustries You’ve already been warned once earlier today.
-
@sunghu Nah, because I was at 1.2 before as well. I just updated tonight to see if that was the issue.
-
@sunghu Strange. I have it turned on for everything, and even updated Growl to 1.2.1, still nothing.

-
@stum450n @onedayfordesign starts at 12:01am Eastern time (GMT-5 I think).
-
Tomorrow, join fellow designers in a worldwide @onedayfordesign discussion about design. #1D4D
-
@bradhaynes Aha! I’ve been wondering when we’d hear and see something from you.
-
@mkelley Nah. Flip was doomed well before Cisco bought Pure Digital.
-
@simplebits What happened to point releases?
-
@jyro That could very well be true in a year or two. I suspect they’ll hang on until tablets come down in price and get a lot lighter.
-
Flip’s demise: the best camera is the camera that’s always with you.
-
@johnniemanzari I also note that Kindle’s ads seem to be static and non-interactive, vs Google’s, where ROI becomes more obvious.
-
@johnniemanzari I’m not saying it should be free. Just that a $25 discount isn’t much to entice.
-
@kevinweil @anildash Because if it’s the latter, seems it’s actually “too long; DON’T read” and it becomes self-fulfilling prophecy.
-
@kevinweil @anildash Is tl;dr labeling another’s story/email that was too long to read? Or is it for a summary at the top of your own?
-
@dickc You’re not alone. Though Melanie adds “doctor”: twitter.com/ardwinna_m/sta…
-
@kennethkufluk Exactly, though *down* doesn’t sound right with top, so my mind rationalizes it as bottom.
-
@mikeindustries @mko @JCroft I just think they should put more skin in the game to make it interesting.
-
@mko @mikeindustries @JCroft They certainly don’t seem to have much confidence in its value, that’s for sure. Why even offer it then?
-
As others have noted, I’m really surprised the Kindle with ads is only $25 less, rather than $25 total.
-
@trammell @anathemalie @shinypb I’m actually waiting for the first instance of Lil Stop. Think about that with Mark’s last name.
-
@leland Safe travels, L. We’ll miss you.
-
@joshelman Really surprised at that. They’d get much wider distribution and still make a profit by charging $25 for the whole Kindle (w/ads)
-
@ideal1st Seems like an eng thing – I would’ve thunk you’d know – “too long, didn’t read”
-
@Missmadbron “too long; didn’t read”
-
@jaynawallace Ah, I can possibly see Rand grumpily saying that. But the quote was actually from @rands. ;-)
-
Whenever I see someone write tl;dr, my mind attempts to read that as top-left; bottom-right. Anyone else?
-
@StuRobson You won’t be able to hide them permanently, because they’re still public tweets.
-
@StuRobson Ah, your replies to others. Yes, those are always visible now. But we’re trying something soon that will allow toggling them off.
-
@StuRobson Only mutual followers see *replies* to you in their timelines. *Mentions* are visible to everyone though.
-
@flukesh On Kindle? How? The only display I get for every book is justified.
-

-
@Missmadbron Hmm. I think there’s a limit in place because sending a lot of DMs is often a spamming tactic.
-
@gotwalt I can’t imagine that would be the case, given Kindle allows text to reflow based on type size. Perhaps it was a PDF?
-
@Missmadbron You can only DM people who are following you. It’s a way of protecting users from unwanted DMs.
-
@mdo Well, you are a 6’4″ 5-year old.
-
I don’t understand why Amazon only offers fully justified text on Kindles and Kindle apps. #letitrag
-
@Squaredeye I’d look forward to that. Always interested to hear how others use combinations of tools.
-
@Trenti Just heard that yesterday, love it. Also love that the mobile intercept for that link allowed me to play it in the app on my phone.
-
@joshelman PB & butter, or PB and banana.
-
@ismaelburciaga @rogie If only you could really do that (include a list in a list, or just create a list of lists).
-
@rogie No, I don’t think following lists affect distribution. Lists are an orphaned feature that we’ve ignored for far too long.
-
@rogie No, don’t think so – only if you’re mentioning/replying to one of my lists, thus using my username. Or if I were following that acct.
-
@couch Awesome news. Looking forward to working with you.
-
@rogie @ImagineRyan Works on twitter.com and in the iPhone app. Haven’t tested it elsewhere yet.
-
@TimHaines Kind of a cool concept though. But I wouldn’t have shot a video like that wearing an ESPIRIT shirt.
-
@ImagineRyan It does exist, but not all clients link them up properly. Mention a list like so @design/team or @stop/design.
-
@CraigGrannell That’s obviously not a good experience. I’ll ask Comms if they’re still monitoring that form, and if not, why not.
