@jhubert For you, yes. But what about the people who come to read your thoughts, without ever tweeting? To them, it’s not publishing.
-
@Bretton Bingo. So you wouldn’t call the blog you’re reading a blogging service, it’s just a site you read, and get value that way.
-
@snookca Exactly. Labeling it as only one-sided (blogging, publishing) misses that point.
-
@snookca Increasingly, people are not flocking to Twitter to tweet. So it does miss the point substantially to pigeonhole it as publishing.
-
@Iconmaster It’s not a matter of marketing. It’s how we see use naturally evolving. No need to fight it.
-
@tmsweet Yes! But not everyone needs to publish. It’s fine just to consume. The pressure to write or share is too much for some folks.
-
Calling it blogging, micro-blogging, or even a tweeting service implies you need to publish to get value. This is no longer true.
-
@MrCCMiller A synonym would be a stretch. But the point is that you no longer need to tweet to find value.
-
@twotribes Auto-correct had my back. I had to look it up to verify that it was correct. ;-)
-
@snookca Blogging, or micro-blogging – both miss the point entirely.
-
@kyle What size screen are you viewing? I’m a little concerned swiping to move around a 27″ iMac.
-
Blog is short for web log. Blogging is the act of writing & updating a blog. To call Twitter a “blogging service” reveals naïveté.
-
@MulderMedia Has been in SF for the past few weeks. Time for a move?
-
@kevinweil I didn’t even see it – my trigger finger found the “skip ad” link before the ad even loaded.
-
@kyle Curious to hear how that goes.
-
@monkchips Ah, makes sense. Worth while considering placing the Actions button there, instead of Lists button.
-
@monkchips In general, most users don’t follow spammers, so spam in the home timeline is rare. More common in search or sometimes mentions.
-
Well deserved, @hemeon & @fflick, congrats. RT @TechCrunch Google To Acquire fflick For $10 Million tcrn.ch/fU8KNU
-
@monkchips Problem is that we don’t want to optimize around an action that is rarely taken for most users.
-
@feather @scottboms I bounce back and forth between both both. I like OG’s shared layers, but also AI’s precision and familiarity.
-
@rogie Feathers of the wing are still too separated and exaggerated. Think of the wing mostly as one unit, not 3 or 4.
-
@luxuryluke But is it not the limits of a trial/free version on iOS that often drives purchase of the paid version?
-
@rogie It’s the difference that a few pixels in size can make. Sub 20px gets difficult with the bird.
-
@luxuryluke What prevents a developer from offering a trial version though? Similar to the iOS app store…
-
@kfury I’m not sure. I just think USE might require a full-cycle payment. Initiated and cleared.
-
@kfury I think the point is that the check issued by bill pay would need to be cashed. But that’s still outrageous.
-
@rogie Your wings are also very “feathered”? We had to tweak the 16×16 favicon a bit, but the menu icon for Twitter/Mac is mostly in tact.
-
Every time it’s 10 minutes before the hour, or 20 minutes after, I hear a chain of phone alerts going off in stereo. #calendardefaults

@maupuia I still can’t tell whether the description for Merlin’s session is real or not.
-
@hemeon Thanks, Marc. That was a surprise to see.

@Scobleizer How is this a valid differentiator when you have Settings > Instagram > Save original photo ?

Yesterday, @jbuckhouse and I pondered why QR codes are so ugly. Why not make something functional AND beautiful?
-
@bhaggs Agreed. Each time I look for them, they’ve expired 3 or 4 years ago.
-
@hellogeri Seriously. It’s sitting on my desk beside me, and the smell keeps wafting up. Possibly because of the shrink wrap?
-
@Robin2go Right – I was starting to think mine had gotten lost too. Reports of first arrivals were weeks ago…
-
Mr. @Malarkey‘s Hardboiled Web Design finally arrived. Maybe I’m odd, but I love the smell of new ink on uncoated paper.

That LivingSocial deal: $10 for $20 Amazon gift card? 1.3 million sold so far. Over $13 million in revenue, and 5 hours still left.

I used to be capable of maintaining Inbox-Unread Zero. Somehow, that capability vanished recently.
-
@colbay Oh no! Just now seeing this. Hope all’s ok. At least you got to capture a few choice quotes.

@MMoeed Agreed, and it’s one of our priorities to fix that this year. Each platform app has a different story of how it came about…

@MMoeed Can you be more specific?
